Semen Analyses
Sperm Analysis:

This test provides information on the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of the sperm. It is the basic test a man needs to do when a couple is having problems conceiving, in order to determine the most suitable fertility treatment for the couple.

The parameters analyzed are:

  • Sperm Count
  • Sperm motility
  • Ph
  • Viscosity of the semen sample
  • Sperm Vitality
  • Sperm Morphology
  • Motile sperm count (MSC) after capacitation
  • Presence of leukocytes in the ejaculate
  • Presence of antibodies anti spermatozoa

Sperm DNA Fragmentation:

The analysis is performed by a new technique that provides information on the percentage of the sperm which have fragmented DNA.

This analisys is only necessary in specific cases, such as couples who have suffered previous miscarriages or when the fertilisation percentage in previous fertility cycles has been very low.
If the percentage of sperm DNA fragmentation is high, the chances of a pregnancy decrease while the risk of miscarriage increases.
The information obtained from the analysis helps us select the most appropriate technique to use in order to achieve a successful pregnancy.

FISH:

FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) is a cytogenetic technique that is used to detect and localise the presence or absence of specific DNA sequences in chromosomes. FISH uses fluorescent probes that only attach to those parts of the chromosome that show a high degree of sequence complementarity

This analisys is only necessary in specific cases, such as couples who have suffered previous miscarriages or when the fertilisation percentage in previous fertility cycles has been very low.
The information obtained helps us select the best possible solution in each case.

Female fertility Analyses
Hormonal Study:

This consists of a blood test performed on day 2-5 of the menstrual cycle. It provides the current levels of hormones which have an impact on fertility, such as FSH, LH, AMH. This analysis enables the doctor to select the most suitable treatment for you.

Tubal Patency Tests:

The patency of fallopian tubes can be tested through ultrasounds and other techniques.
