Fetal DNA testing in maternal blood
With a simple blood extraction we can get to know the chances that the baby has chromosomic abnormalities.
During the pregnancy, Fetal DNA cellular fragments can be found in the maternal blood. The Fetal DNA can be identified starting from the 10th week of the pregnancy.
With this blood test we can detect the trisomy of chromosomes 21, 18 and 13 and the numeric abnormalities of the sexual chromosomes.
