Detection of cervical cell abnormalities
Its primary mission is to detect precancerous and cancerous lesions of the cervix. It consists of a light scraping of the cervix with a spatula subsequently impregnating this sample onto a rectangular glass, where the cytologist identifies normal or abnormal cells.
