Surgical sperm retrieval by testicular biopsy (TESA)
Testicular biopsy consists of removing a small sample of tissue from one or both testicles. This procedure is performed by way of a simple surgical procedure. The sample removed is processed in the laboratory, in order to obtain motile sperm which can be used in an ICSI treatment.
This technique is suitable for men who have no sperm, have a low sperm count and/or a high percentage of fragmented DNA.
